Terms of Service

Effective Date: August 17, 2026
Last Updated: August 25, 2026
Terms Version: 1.0.0.3
Current GorBot Release Alignment: Portal 2.9.0.19

By installing, inviting, accessing, configuring, purchasing for, or using GorBot or any related GorBot website or service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Terms Version 1.0.0.3 — August 25, 2026 revision: These Terms have been updated for the current GorBot Portal 2.9.0.19 service model and the completed canonical-domain migration to gorbot.app. Official GorBot legal, support, documentation, plans, navigation, and informational content remains published through the GorBot CMS; Server Premium purchasing remains live through Discord subscriptions; GorBot's stable Redirect Service remains available for selected external/changeable destinations; and internal GorBot links remain root-relative so they are portable across future canonical-domain changes. This revision also moves the official legal, privacy, billing, security, abuse, support, general-contact, DMCA, and automated-mail role addresses to the new @gorbot.app mailboxes. Player Studio, Community Power, Free/Premium limits, downgrade behavior, publication rights, reporting/moderation, and third-party-rights provisions remain in effect.

Mature-content notice: GorBot is intended for adult communities and may support mature fictional roleplay, including profanity, fictional violence, dominance and submission, slavery themes, sexual or romantic themes, harsh language, and other material unsuitable for children. GorBot is not intended for minors.

Premium purchasing status: GorBot currently offers a Free Server tier and a Server Premium subscription through Discord's authorized subscription flow. A paid Server Premium subscription exists only after Discord confirms the applicable purchase/entitlement. Manually granted Premium access for testing, support, promotion, or administration is not itself a paid subscription.

2. Eligibility and Adult Use

GorBot is intended for adults participating in mature online communities.

You must:

  • Be at least 18 years old and at least the age of majority required by the jurisdiction that applies to you.
  • Be legally permitted to use Discord and GorBot.
  • Follow the age requirements and rules of each Server where you use GorBot.
  • Not use GorBot if applicable law or Discord rules prohibit you from doing so.

The Service may support fictional Gorean roleplay, dominance and submission, fictional slavery, mature relationships, violence, profanity, sexuality, and other adult themes.

Use of fictional roleplay features does not permit or endorse:

  • Real-world slavery, trafficking, coercion, exploitation, or abuse.
  • Sexual exploitation or non-consensual real-world conduct.
  • Sexual content involving minors or age-ambiguous persons.
  • Grooming or predatory behavior involving minors.
  • Credible threats of real-world violence.
  • Harassment, stalking, doxxing, or targeted abuse of a real person.
  • Illegal conduct.

Characters participating in explicitly sexual or adult roleplay must be represented as adults.

4. GorBot Website and CMS Content

The official GorBot Website uses the GorBot CMS to publish GorBot legal pages, support documentation, public information, plans, navigation, and other GorBot material on GorBot's then-current canonical domain.

GorBot documentation that formerly lived on a separate Gor Ultima MediaWiki site has been migrated into the GorBot CMS. The former MediaWiki site is not part of the current GorBot publishing architecture described by these Terms.

The GorBot CMS is presently intended to be publicly readable but not publicly editable. Public CMS account creation, public posting, public comments, and public content submission are not offered as ordinary features. Authorized CMS administrators or support-team accounts may exist for maintenance and publication.

By accessing the GorBot Website, you understand and agree that:

  • CMS pages, guides, screenshots, examples, command references, game information, roleplay material, and technical documentation are provided for general informational and community-reference purposes.
  • CMS content may contain errors, omissions, outdated information, broken links, or descriptions of features that have since changed.
  • GorBot, Discord, game-server software, game mechanics, commands, prices, plan limits, integrations, third-party APIs, and other referenced systems may change without every informational page being updated immediately.
  • Informational CMS content is not a warranty, service-level agreement, professional consultation, or binding promise that a feature, command, price, game mechanic, integration, or third-party service will remain available or behave exactly as described.
  • Where a current GorBot legal page, dashboard, checkout page, in-application notice, official release note, or other transaction-specific disclosure conflicts with older support or documentation content, the more current, legal, or transaction-specific information controls to the extent permitted by law.
  • You are responsible for independently verifying information before relying on it for a significant technical, financial, legal, medical, safety, security, or account-management decision.
  • Examples, configuration snippets, commands, and technical instructions should be reviewed before use. The Operator is not responsible for damage caused by blindly applying outdated, incompatible, incomplete, or incorrectly understood instructions.
  • External links are provided for convenience. The Operator does not control third-party websites and does not guarantee their availability, accuracy, security, privacy practices, or content.
  • The Operator may correct, reorganize, archive, remove, or replace GorBot CMS material at any time.

GorBot may provide stable local Redirect Service aliases for selected third-party or otherwise changeable destinations. A redirect alias is a convenience route, not a representation that GorBot owns or controls the destination. The Operator may change or disable an alias when the associated external destination changes, becomes unavailable, or is no longer appropriate. After a redirect sends you to a third-party service, that third party's own terms, privacy practices, and availability apply.

The GorBot Website may reference fictional settings, mature Gorean roleplay themes, Ultima Online, Discord, software projects, third-party services, trademarks, copyrighted works, or community-created material. Such references are informational or descriptive and do not imply affiliation, sponsorship, ownership, endorsement, or authorization by the relevant third-party rights holder.

The GorBot Website may display images, names, logos, screenshots, quotations, links, or other materials belonging to their respective owners. Users should not interpret the presence of such material as a transfer of ownership or license beyond whatever rights are provided by law or the relevant rights holder.

If you believe material on the GorBot Website infringes your rights or improperly displays private information, contact legal@gorbot.app or privacy@gorbot.app, as appropriate.

5. Server Installation and Administrative Authority

A person who installs, authorizes, configures, or purchases GorBot for a Server represents that they have sufficient authority to do so.

Server Owners and authorized administrators are responsible for:

  • Configuring GorBot permissions appropriately.
  • Giving GorBot only the permissions reasonably required for desired features.
  • Managing staff access and administrative roles.
  • Reviewing automations, moderation rules, scheduled actions, and destructive operations before enabling them.
  • Ensuring Server rules and use of GorBot comply with Discord requirements and applicable law.
  • Informing Server members of local rules or disclosures that the Server itself is legally required to provide.

The Operator is not responsible for harm caused by a Server Owner’s or administrator’s misconfiguration, misuse, excessive permissions, automation design, moderation decisions, or failure to supervise Server staff.

GorBot may refuse an operation when permissions, security checks, role hierarchy, authorization, rate limits, or other safeguards are not satisfied.

6. Character Speech and Webhook Messages

GorBot may use Discord webhooks to display messages using a selected character’s name and avatar.

A message-command prefix may vary by Server. For example, if a Server uses [ as its prefix:

[say Hello.

may cause GorBot to post a webhook message under the selected character identity.

By using webhook roleplay, you understand and agree that:

  • The webhook message represents content submitted by you or generated at your direction.
  • The character name and avatar may differ from your Discord account name and avatar.
  • Your original command message may be deleted after successful replacement.
  • Other users may understand the resulting message as fictional character dialogue.
  • You remain responsible for content submitted through your character.
  • You may not impersonate a real person, Server staff member, another player, or another player’s character without authorization.
  • You may not falsely represent character messages as official statements by the Operator, Discord, or another organization.

GorBot may preserve the original message when webhook replacement fails.

7. User Accounts, Discord OAuth, and Profiles

You are responsible for activity performed through your Discord account, authenticated dashboard session, and GorBot profiles.

You agree to:

  • Keep your Discord account and authenticated sessions secure.
  • Not share authentication cookies, session links, credentials, or access tokens.
  • Provide accurate information where accuracy is required.
  • Maintain control of characters and content associated with your account.
  • Use only avatars, images, names, text, and other content you have the right to use.
  • Avoid misleading, deceptive, infringing, or impersonating profiles.
  • Notify appropriate Server staff or the Operator if you believe your GorBot access has been compromised.

GorBot may impose profile, character, image, storage, publication, gallery, card, submission-history, or other limits.

Player-facing features may have anti-abuse or capacity limits even when they are not tied to a paid Server entitlement. A Server's Premium status does not itself transfer ownership of a player's personal GorBot content to the Server Owner.

The Operator may rename, disable, archive, transfer, restrict, or remove profiles when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, respond to abuse, comply with law, resolve ownership disputes, or protect the Service.

8. User Content and License

You retain any ownership rights you have in User Content.

By submitting User Content to GorBot, you grant the Operator a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, display, format, cache, back up, and otherwise use that content only as reasonably necessary to:

  • Operate GorBot.
  • Display content in Discord or the web dashboard.
  • Provide webhook roleplay.
  • Maintain profiles, NPCs, notes, scenes, memories, automations, logs, and related features.
  • Provide backups, restoration, failover, security, moderation, and technical support.
  • Detect abuse or security problems.
  • Maintain and improve the Service.
  • Resolve and display approved external-media references, publication links, gallery images, and profile-card designs where the User has chosen to use them.
  • Process reports, moderation actions, dependency checks, or broken-link status associated with public or shared User Content.

This operational license ends when the content is deleted from active systems, except where copies must temporarily remain in backups, audit records, moderation records, fraud records, legal holds, security records, or other records that the Operator is permitted or required to retain.

You represent that you have the rights and permissions necessary to submit User Content.

9. Published, Shared, and Cross-Server Content

Some GorBot features allow Users to deliberately publish content beyond a single private Server.

Examples may include:

  • Global or shared NPC entries.
  • NPCs available for cloning.
  • Server-discovery profiles.
  • Server descriptions and invite links.
  • Public images or galleries.
  • Player publications, book listings, publication covers, and external publication links.
  • Public Character Profile Cards and User Profile Cards.
  • Marketplace, lore, event, or community listings.
  • Other content clearly identified as shared, published, discoverable, or cross-server.

When you intentionally publish content through such a feature, you authorize GorBot to display and distribute that Published Content to other GorBot users and Servers for the purpose of operating that feature.

If a feature expressly permits cloning, copying, importing, or reusing a published NPC or similar item, you also authorize other GorBot users to use the feature’s provided cloning or import mechanism.

You remain responsible for ensuring that Published Content:

  • Does not violate law, Discord rules, these Terms, or third-party rights.
  • Does not expose private or confidential information.
  • Uses images and media you are permitted to publish.
  • Uses accurate and safe invite links.
  • Does not intentionally deceive users about the identity or ownership of a Server, character, NPC, or organization.

The Operator may remove, unpublish, de-rank, restrict, disable links to, or refuse Published Content.

Viewing permission is not the same as reuse permission. Unless a feature expressly permits reuse, cloning, import, or selection, one User may not reuse another User's images, gallery entries, Character images, publications, profile-card assets, or other content merely because the content is publicly visible.

10. Personal Notes and Private Information

GorBot may provide Personal Notes or similar private-to-account roleplay tools.

These tools are intended for convenience and roleplay organization. They are not a secure password manager, medical record system, financial vault, legal repository, or storage location for highly sensitive information.

Do not store:

  • Passwords or authentication credentials.
  • Financial-account information.
  • Government identification numbers.
  • Medical records.
  • Private keys, API keys, Bot tokens, or recovery codes.
  • Information you are not authorized to possess or store.

Information may still be processed by GorBot infrastructure and may be accessible to the Operator when reasonably necessary for security, support, legal compliance, abuse investigation, or system maintenance, subject to the <a href="/cms-page.php?slug=privacy-policy" target="_self">Privacy Policy</a>.

11. Prohibited Conduct

You may not use GorBot to:

  • Violate law, regulation, Discord policy, or applicable Server rules.
  • Harass, stalk, threaten, defame, intimidate, or doxx another person.
  • Distribute another person’s private or identifying information without authorization.
  • Impersonate another user, staff member, real person, organization, or character without authorization.
  • Share illegal, exploitative, or malicious content.
  • Sexualize minors or age-ambiguous persons.
  • Promote or facilitate real-world human trafficking, coercion, exploitation, or abuse.
  • Distribute malware, spyware, credential stealers, destructive code, or harmful files.
  • Obtain or attempt to obtain Bot tokens, webhook tokens, API keys, passwords, private keys, authentication cookies, or other credentials.
  • Probe, exploit, attack, reverse engineer, disrupt, overload, or bypass GorBot security except where applicable law expressly grants a non-waivable right.
  • Evade rate limits, bans, restrictions, payment controls, entitlement checks, moderation actions, or access controls.
  • Spam commands, messages, webhooks, direct messages, APIs, automations, or scheduled operations.
  • Abuse moderation, ticketing, roles, automations, or administrative functions.
  • Manipulate GorBot into revealing private prompts, credentials, another User’s private information, or restricted system data.
  • Use unauthorized bots, automated accounts, scripts, scraping, or bulk-access tools against GorBot.
  • Submit content that infringes copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, contractual, or other third-party rights.
  • Fraudulently obtain Premium access or manipulate subscription/entitlement records.
  • Use stolen payment methods or engage in fraudulent chargebacks.
  • Interfere with Discord, GorBot infrastructure, game servers, hosting systems, databases, or other users.

The Operator may restrict activity that reasonably appears abusive, dangerous, fraudulent, or disruptive even when it is not specifically listed above.

12. Automations, Moderation, and Administrative Actions

GorBot can perform actions automatically or at the direction of authorized Server staff.

Depending on configuration, these actions may include:

  • Sending or deleting messages.
  • Assigning or removing roles.
  • Creating or updating webhook messages.
  • Running scheduled messages or workflows.
  • Creating tickets.
  • Muting, timing out, kicking, banning, warning, or otherwise moderating users.
  • Publishing or updating embeds.
  • Applying anti-abuse or security rules.
  • Running verification workflows.
  • Responding to Honeypot/trap-channel activity with configured deletion, logging, timeout, kick, softban, ban, or related actions.
  • Posting or maintaining Starboards, Sticky Messages, Question of the Day, Counting, Bump Reminders, leveling rewards, invite rewards, Forms, Suggestions, Giveaways, or Ticket intake workflows.
  • Backing up or restoring configuration.

Server Owners and authorized administrators are responsible for reviewing and testing their configuration.

The Operator does not guarantee that an automation, moderation rule, permission hierarchy, scheduled action, backup, or restoration operation will produce the result intended by the Server administrator.

The Operator may impose safeguards, confirmations, rate limits, permission checks, or restrictions on destructive or high-impact operations.

Server Owners are responsible for configuring automated enforcement carefully. A Honeypot, verification rule, invite reward, role reward, form action, or similar workflow can affect real Discord members if configured incorrectly. The Operator does not guarantee that automated detection, invite attribution, spam detection, leveling, reputation, or other derived measurements will be perfectly accurate.

13. Mock Intelligence, NPC Behavior, and Automated Responses

Some GorBot responses may be generated by rules-based, adaptive, procedural, or artificial-intelligence-assisted systems.

These systems:

  • Are not conscious, sentient, or self-aware.
  • Do not possess human judgment.
  • May misunderstand context.
  • May produce incorrect, repetitive, inconsistent, offensive, or inappropriate responses.
  • May reflect fictional personality, mood, hostility, profanity, culture, social roles, slavery roles, relationships, memories, or other roleplay context.
  • May change behavior as persistent NPC or relationship information changes.
  • Should not be relied upon for legal, medical, financial, safety, mental-health, or other professional advice.

Automated or NPC-generated statements are fictional or machine-generated output and do not necessarily represent the views of the Operator, Discord, Server staff, or any real person.

14. Optional Third-Party AI Services

The Operator may connect some features to third-party artificial-intelligence providers.

When enabled:

  • Selected prompts, conversation context, character details, NPC information, or related content may be transmitted to the provider.
  • Third-party processing is governed by that provider’s terms and privacy practices.
  • Availability, model behavior, pricing, limits, and output quality may change.
  • Generated output may be inaccurate, inappropriate, delayed, or unavailable.
  • The Operator may disable or change the integration.

Users should not submit confidential or highly sensitive information to AI-enabled features.

Additional information is provided in the <a href="/cms-page.php?slug=privacy-policy" target="_self">Privacy Policy</a>.

15. Conversation Memory and Adaptive Roleplay

GorBot may retain limited roleplay history or persistent state to provide continuity.

Stored or derived roleplay information may include:

  • Character or NPC relationships.
  • Personality traits.
  • Mood and disposition.
  • Forms of address.
  • Fictional roles or status.
  • Fictional ownership or slavery-role information.
  • Gossip, memories, knowledge, or learned associations.
  • Recent conversation topics.
  • NPC adaptive-learning information.
  • User preferences relevant to roleplay.
  • Character, NPC, equipment, Server, channel, or user identifiers.

Memory may be automatically trimmed, summarized, archived, reset, or removed based on age, size, plan limits, storage limits, feature design, or administrative settings.

Deleting a Discord message does not necessarily delete all associated GorBot memory, logs, backups, or records immediately. Data handling and deletion are addressed in the <a href="/cms-page.php?slug=privacy-policy" target="_self">Privacy Policy</a>.

16. Logging, Audit, Security, and Abuse Prevention

GorBot may maintain logs and audit information for security, moderation, debugging, reliability, fraud prevention, and service operation.

Records may include:

  • Commands and feature usage.
  • Discord user, Guild, channel, role, message, application, or webhook identifiers.
  • Authentication and authorization events.
  • Dashboard actions.
  • Errors, timeouts, connection failures, and diagnostics.
  • Rate-limit events.
  • Moderation and administrative actions.
  • Automation activity.
  • Forms/application state and staff review actions.
  • Suggestion, giveaway, verification, Honeypot, Starboard, Sticky Message, QOTD, Counting, invite-tracking, leveling, reputation, and related feature activity where logging is enabled or operationally necessary.
  • Security incidents or suspicious behavior.
  • Subscription or entitlement changes.
  • Provider event identifiers and billing-state metadata.
  • Backup, restoration, release, or system-health activity.

The Operator may review these records when reasonably necessary.

Credentials such as Discord Bot tokens, API keys, database passwords, private keys, payment credentials, and webhook secrets should not intentionally be written to ordinary user-facing logs.

17. Free Tier

GorBot may provide a Free Tier without a recurring subscription charge.

The Free Tier may include limits on features such as:

  • Automations.
  • Embed templates.
  • Custom commands.
  • Timed messages.
  • Ticket panels and Ticket intake questions.
  • Forms & Applications.
  • Suggestion boards.
  • Giveaways.
  • Honeypot and Verification profiles.
  • Starboards, Sticky Messages, QOTD schedules, Counting channels, Invite reward rules, Bump Reminders, Level rewards, and XP booster rules.
  • Reaction-role panels.
  • Configuration backups.
  • Audit retention.
  • Security-history retention.
  • Other storage, capacity, or advanced administrative features.

Some Player Studio features may be available to individual players without a separate player subscription, subject to anti-abuse, ownership, content, provider, and capacity limits. Server Premium primarily governs the Server's higher-capacity or advanced administrative/community features.

The current Free/Premium feature comparison and current limits are shown on GorBot’s Plans & Features page:

GorBot Plans & Features

The Operator may adjust Free Tier features or limits as the Service evolves. Changes will not override rights that cannot legally be waived.

18. Premium Tier and Pricing

Server Premium is currently offered as a recurring, Server-specific subscription through Discord unless the applicable Discord checkout or entitlement presentation clearly states otherwise.

The current advertised base price is:

Premium: US $5.99 per Discord Server per billing month

Important pricing terms:

  • Premium attaches to the applicable Discord Guild/Server entitlement, not to a particular GorBot processing node.
  • Unless checkout states otherwise, one Premium subscription covers one Server.
  • A person purchasing Premium represents that they are authorized to purchase services for the selected Server.
  • The exact price, currency, taxes, billing date, renewal date, and provider terms shown at checkout control that transaction.
  • Applicable taxes may be added or collected by the payment provider.
  • Promotional, discounted, regional, or provider-specific pricing may be offered where permitted.
  • The Operator may change Premium pricing for future billing periods.
  • A price change will not retroactively increase the price of a billing period that has already been paid.
  • Where notice of a renewal or price change is required by applicable law or provider rules, the required notice will control.
  • GorBot currently uses Discord's authorized subscription/entitlement flow for Server Premium and may change supported payment methods in the future only as permitted by Discord rules and applicable law.

The Plans & Features page may describe current Premium features and limits. Specific Premium features are not guaranteed to remain permanently unchanged.

19. Subscription Creation, Renewal, and Billing Periods

A paid subscription is created only after an authorized payment channel confirms successful purchase.

Unless checkout states otherwise:

  • Premium renews automatically each billing month until canceled.
  • The billing period begins on the subscription date.
  • Renewal normally occurs on the corresponding calendar date in the following month, subject to the payment provider’s billing rules.
  • The renewal date shown by the payment provider, Discord, checkout, receipt, or subscription-management page is controlling.
  • Premium continues while the subscription entitlement is active.

GorBot does not need to contact the payment processor every time a Premium feature is used. GorBot may maintain a subscription entitlement or billing-state record and update it based on verified provider events, Discord entitlements, reconciliation, administrative correction, or other authorized billing information.

Subscription status may include active, canceled-at-period-end, past-due, grace-period, expired, refunded, revoked, or similar states.

20. Cancellation

Unless the applicable payment provider or law requires different treatment:

  • You may cancel a recurring Premium subscription before its next renewal.
  • Cancellation normally prevents the next renewal charge.
  • Premium access normally continues through the end of the already-paid billing period.
  • Cancellation does not normally create a prorated refund for time remaining in the current period.
  • The cancellation method provided by the applicable payment channel should be used.
  • If the payment provider controls subscription cancellation, its cancellation process and terms also apply.

If you lose ownership or administrative control of a Server for which you are paying, you are responsible for canceling or correcting the subscription unless the applicable payment channel provides another supported transfer mechanism.

The Operator may require reasonable verification before manually modifying an entitlement or resolving a Server-ownership dispute.

21. Failed Payments, Grace Periods, and Downgrades

If a renewal payment fails:

  • The payment provider may retry the charge.
  • GorBot may provide a temporary grace period.
  • Premium may remain active during an authorized grace period.
  • If payment is not successfully resolved, the Server may automatically return to the Free Tier.

When a Server moves from Premium to Free:

  • GorBot will not intentionally delete configuration solely because the Server exceeds a Free Tier limit at the instant of downgrade.
  • Existing over-limit configuration may remain stored but may be restricted, disabled, read-only, unpublished, or unavailable for new creation until the Server is within Free Tier limits or Premium is restored.
  • Premium-only automations, scheduled operations, advanced Community Power capacity, XP boosters, additional boards/profiles/rules, backups, or other Premium features may stop running or become unavailable.
  • Basic safety features that GorBot currently provides on the Free Tier may remain available, but their exact limits and capabilities are governed by the current plan policy.
  • GorBot does not promise indefinite retention of over-limit or inactive data.

Restoring an active Premium entitlement may restore access to preserved Premium configuration, subject to current compatibility and retention policies.

22. Refunds, Disputes, Fraud, and Chargebacks

Refund eligibility depends on the payment channel, applicable law, and the circumstances of the transaction.

Unless applicable law or the payment provider requires otherwise:

  • Subscription fees are generally not refundable merely because a User did not use the Service during a paid period.
  • Cancellation normally affects future renewal rather than refunding the current billing period.
  • The applicable payment provider may control refunds, reversals, disputes, receipts, taxes, and chargebacks.
  • The Operator may issue a discretionary refund where appropriate but is not obligated to do so unless required by law or provider rules.

Fraud, stolen payment methods, entitlement manipulation, payment abuse, or fraudulent chargebacks may result in:

  • Immediate Premium suspension or revocation.
  • Temporary or permanent restrictions.
  • Preservation of relevant fraud and security records.
  • Reporting to the applicable payment provider or authorities where appropriate.
  • Recovery of amounts lawfully owed, where permitted.

A legitimate billing dispute or good-faith request for support will not be treated as fraud merely because the User disputes a charge.

Billing, subscription, cancellation, charge, or refund questions should be directed to billing@gorbot.app.

23. Payment Processors and Third-Party Billing

Server Premium payment information is currently processed through Discord's authorized subscription flow. If GorBot later supports another authorized payment provider, that provider's applicable terms and privacy practices will also apply.

The Operator should not receive or store full card numbers merely to operate a GorBot subscription.

Payment providers may independently collect and process information such as:

  • Name and billing contact information.
  • Payment method information.
  • Billing address.
  • Tax information.
  • Fraud signals.
  • Receipts and invoices.
  • Subscription identifiers.
  • Charge, refund, and dispute records.

Use of a payment provider is also subject to that provider’s applicable terms and privacy policy.

GorBot may store limited billing metadata needed to associate a verified subscription or entitlement with the correct Server, such as provider name, provider customer/subscription identifiers, Guild ID, plan, status, billing-period dates, event identifiers, and entitlement state.

Further details belong in the <a href="/cms-page.php?slug=privacy-policy" target="_self">Privacy Policy</a>.

24. Discord Monetization Requirements

GorBot currently offers Server Premium through Discord's supported subscription/entitlement system.

Availability, taxes, currencies, checkout presentation, cancellation controls, subscription-management options, and other payment functionality may vary by region, Discord account eligibility, Discord platform support, and Discord's then-current rules.

GorBot may adjust its checkout options, pricing presentation, or subscription implementation as necessary to remain compliant with Discord's then-current developer and monetization requirements.

25. Moderation and Enforcement

The Operator and authorized Server staff may, as applicable:

  • Warn Users.
  • Delete or replace messages.
  • Restrict commands or features.
  • Disable or remove profiles or Published Content.
  • Hide or remove Galleries, Gallery images, Publications, Profile Cards, external links, form/application content, suggestions, or other public/shared content.
  • Remove inappropriate avatars, biographies, server listings, or links.
  • Mute, timeout, kick, or ban Users where authorized.
  • Suspend or revoke GorBot access.
  • Remove GorBot from a Server.
  • Suspend Premium functionality for abuse, fraud, legal risk, or security reasons.
  • Preserve relevant records for moderation, security, fraud, or legal review.

Enforcement may occur without advance notice when reasonably necessary to protect Users, the Service, Discord, payment systems, third parties, or the Operator.

The Operator may consider context, severity, history, intent, and risk but is not required to impose identical consequences in every case.

Security vulnerabilities should be reported privately to security@gorbot.app. Abuse, harassment, malicious use, or safety concerns involving GorBot may be reported to abuse@gorbot.app.

26. Privacy

Use of GorBot is also governed by the <a href="/cms-page.php?slug=privacy-policy" target="_self">GorBot Privacy Policy</a>.

The Privacy Policy explains or should explain:

  • What information GorBot collects.
  • Why information is collected.
  • How information is stored and protected.
  • How long categories of data may be retained.
  • When information may be shared with processors or other parties.
  • How Discord API data is handled.
  • How payment-related metadata is handled.
  • How Users may request access, correction, or deletion where applicable.
  • How to contact the Operator about privacy matters.

Privacy and data-rights requests should be directed to:

Privacy Contact: privacy@gorbot.app

Do not use GorBot until you have reviewed the Privacy Policy.

27. Third-Party Services

GorBot depends on or may integrate with third-party systems such as:

  • Discord.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers.
  • Database providers.
  • Domain, proxy, and content-delivery services.
  • Payment processors.
  • Artificial-intelligence providers.
  • Image-hosting, cloud-storage, publication-hosting, or external-media providers, including providers such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive, Discord-hosted media, and other approved HTTPS providers.
  • Game-server software.
  • Open-source or third-party modules.
  • Authentication and OAuth services.

The Operator does not control every third-party system and is not responsible for changes, outages, suspensions, security incidents, data practices, policy changes, pricing changes, or failures caused by those providers.

Your use of third-party services remains subject to their applicable terms and policies.

28. Availability, Maintenance, and Service Changes

GorBot is provided as an evolving service.

The Operator does not guarantee that:

  • GorBot will always be online.
  • Every command or dashboard feature will always function.
  • Every Discord Gateway connection or integration will remain continuously available.
  • Stored information will never be lost, corrupted, delayed, or unavailable.
  • Every backup will be recoverable.
  • Every failover, update, or restoration will be instantaneous.
  • All automated responses will be accurate or appropriate.
  • Features, limits, prices, plans, providers, or integrations will remain unchanged.
  • Discord or another third party will continue supporting a particular API or feature.
  • External images, publication files, gallery resources, links, invite URLs, or hosted media will remain available.
  • External-media providers will continue allowing embedding, hotlinking, downloading, or public access under the same URL.
  • Roleplay memory or historical information will be permanently preserved.

Maintenance, rolling updates, failover, capacity limits, crashes, host failures, Internet outages, Discord outages, provider outages, database maintenance, security incidents, or other events may interrupt the Service.

Premium does not create a guaranteed uptime, response-time, support-time, data-retention, or service-level agreement unless the Operator expressly agrees to one in a separate written contract.

29. Backups and Data Loss

GorBot may create backups for operational recovery.

Backups are not a guarantee against data loss.

Users and Server Owners should maintain independent copies of important content that they cannot afford to lose.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator is not responsible for loss resulting from:

  • Failed or incomplete backups.
  • Corruption.
  • Restoration errors.
  • Third-party service failures.
  • User or administrator deletion.
  • Misconfigured automation.
  • Security incidents.
  • Software defects.
  • Hardware or infrastructure failures.
  • Discord deletion, removal, or API changes.
  • External provider link expiration, access changes, deleted files, revoked sharing permissions, or third-party media outages.

30. Intellectual Property and Third-Party Rights

GorBot software, branding, original documentation, and original Service materials are owned by the Operator or applicable licensors.

These Terms do not transfer ownership of GorBot software to Users.

You may not copy, sell, license, misrepresent, or commercially exploit GorBot software or proprietary materials except with authorization or where applicable law grants a non-waivable right.

Third-party names, games, books, fictional universes, trademarks, artwork, and other materials remain the property of their respective rights holders.

GorBot is an independent community project. References to Gorean roleplay, Gor, the Gor novel series, John Norman, Ultima Online, Discord, or other third-party properties do not imply sponsorship, affiliation, authorization, or endorsement.

GorBot is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or authorized by John Norman, the Gor novel series, their publishers, licensors, or other applicable rights holders. GorBot's use of terms such as "Gor," "Gorean," fictional setting references, character concepts, currencies, cultural terminology, or related descriptive material is for community, roleplay, reference, interoperability, or descriptive purposes and does not assert ownership of those third-party properties.

If you believe User Content available through GorBot infringes your intellectual-property rights, contact the Operator at legal@gorbot.app with enough information to identify the material, the claimed right, your contact information, and the action you are requesting. A dedicated dmca@gorbot.app mailbox is also available for copyright or DMCA-related notices. The existence of that mailbox does not by itself represent that the Operator has completed any formal DMCA designated-agent registration; any such registration, if applicable, is governed by the relevant legal process.

31. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GorBot and the Service are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE.”

The Operator disclaims express and implied warranties to the maximum extent legally permitted, including warranties of:

  • Merchantability.
  • Fitness for a particular purpose.
  • Non-infringement.
  • Availability.
  • Accuracy.
  • Reliability.
  • Security.
  • Error-free operation.
  • Data preservation.
  • Compatibility with every Discord server, client, game server, browser, device, payment provider, or third-party service.

Use of GorBot and reliance on GorBot Website, CMS documentation, or Service information is at your own risk.

No informational article, CMS page, guide, example, screenshot, command reference, or support response creates a warranty merely because it is published by the Operator.

Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty, consumer right, or remedy that applicable law does not permit the parties to waive.

32. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Operator, developers, administrators, and authorized staff will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to GorBot.

This includes, without limitation:

  • Lost data or configuration.
  • Lost character profiles, NPCs, notes, or roleplay memory.
  • Lost revenue, profits, opportunities, business, reputation, or goodwill.
  • Service interruption or latency.
  • Moderation or automation mistakes.
  • Discord account or Server actions.
  • Content posted by Users.
  • Incorrect or offensive automated output.
  • Unauthorized use of a User’s Discord account.
  • Payment-provider or billing-provider failures.
  • Failed backups or restorations.
  • Failures of Discord or another third-party service.
  • Reliance on inaccurate, incomplete, incompatible, or outdated GorBot Website, support, or CMS documentation content.
  • Damage caused by applying technical examples, commands, scripts, or configuration guidance without appropriate review or backups.

Where liability cannot legally be excluded, the Operator’s aggregate liability arising from the Service will be limited to the greater of:

  • The amount actually paid by the claimant directly for GorBot during the six months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim; or
  • US $25.00.

This limitation does not apply where applicable law prohibits such a limitation.

33. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Operator, developers, authorized administrators, and staff from third-party claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and reasonable expenses arising from or related to:

  • Your use or misuse of GorBot.
  • User Content you submit or publish.
  • Your Server configuration or automation.
  • Your violation of these Terms.
  • Your violation of Discord policies.
  • Your violation of another person’s rights.
  • Your unauthorized administration of a Server.
  • Fraudulent or unlawful activity performed through your account or Server.

This section does not require indemnification where prohibited by law.

34. Force Majeure

The Operator is not responsible for delay or failure caused by events reasonably beyond the Operator’s control, including:

  • Internet or telecommunications outages.
  • Hosting or cloud-provider failures.
  • Discord outages or API changes.
  • Payment-network or processor outages.
  • Power failures.
  • Natural disasters.
  • Fire, flood, severe weather, war, terrorism, civil disorder, or government action.
  • Labor disputes.
  • Cyberattacks or widespread security incidents.
  • Failure of third-party infrastructure.

The Operator will use reasonable efforts to restore affected service where practical but does not guarantee a restoration time.

35. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using GorBot at any time.

The Operator may suspend, restrict, or terminate access when:

  • You violate these Terms.
  • You violate Discord requirements or applicable Server rules.
  • Your activity creates security, legal, financial, fraud, reputational, or operational risk.
  • A payment provider reports fraud or invalid entitlement.
  • Required fees remain unpaid.
  • Discord restricts or removes GorBot.
  • A third-party provider makes continued operation impractical.
  • The Service or a feature is discontinued.

Termination or suspension may affect Premium access.

Except where required by law or provider rules, termination for breach, fraud, or abuse does not automatically entitle a User to a refund.

Provisions that reasonably should survive termination remain in effect, including ownership, licenses necessary for retained records, payment obligations, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, dispute provisions, and enforcement rights.

36. Changes to Features, Plans, Pricing, and These Terms

The Operator may update GorBot, these Terms, feature limits, plan descriptions, supported providers, or pricing.

The latest Terms will be posted on this page with a revision date.

Material changes may also be announced through Discord, the GorBot website, or another official communication channel.

If a Premium price changes:

  • The change applies prospectively.
  • A completed current billing period will not be retroactively repriced.
  • Required notices and provider-specific rules will be followed.
  • Users may cancel before a future renewal if they do not accept the new renewal price, subject to applicable provider procedures and law.

Continuing to use GorBot after revised Terms take effect means you accept the revised Terms, except where applicable law requires a different form of consent.

37. Informal Dispute Resolution

Before filing a non-emergency claim against the Operator, you agree to make a reasonable good-faith effort to resolve the dispute through GorBot’s official support or contact process.

The parties should allow up to 30 days for informal resolution after sufficient written notice of the dispute, unless waiting would cause a claim to expire or applicable law provides a non-waivable right to proceed sooner.

This section does not prevent either party from seeking urgent injunctive or protective relief where legally appropriate.

38. Governing Law and Venue

To the maximum extent legally permitted, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Subject to rights that cannot legally be waived, claims that must be brought in court will be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction located in Utah.

Mandatory consumer-protection, privacy, or other rights that apply based on a User’s jurisdiction remain unaffected where they cannot legally be waived.

39. Severability and Waiver

If a provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect to the greatest extent legally permitted.

A failure to enforce a provision does not waive the right to enforce it later.

40. Assignment

You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms, including a paid Server entitlement, in a manner that bypasses supported Server-ownership or subscription procedures without the Operator’s consent.

The Operator may assign these Terms or transfer operation of GorBot as part of a lawful reorganization, business transfer, merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially related assets, subject to applicable law and privacy obligations.

41. Entire Agreement

These Terms, the <a href="/cms-page.php?slug=privacy-policy" target="_self">GorBot Privacy Policy</a>, applicable plan and checkout disclosures, applicable Server rules, and incorporated Discord requirements form the agreement governing use of GorBot.

If a payment provider presents transaction-specific terms that lawfully control a purchase, those terms also apply to that transaction.

No informal statement changes these Terms unless it is incorporated into an official written revision or binding written agreement.

42. Contact, Support, and Legal Notices

Questions, support requests, billing issues, abuse reports, privacy requests, intellectual-property complaints, security reports, or legal notices should be directed to the appropriate official GorBot contact method.

General Contact: contactus@gorbot.app
Customer / Technical Support: support@gorbot.app
Billing & Subscriptions: billing@gorbot.app
Privacy & Data Rights: privacy@gorbot.app
Legal Notices & Intellectual Property: legal@gorbot.app
Security Vulnerabilities: security@gorbot.app
Abuse / Safety Reports: abuse@gorbot.app

Additional official resources:

  • Support: <a href="/cms-page.php?slug=gorbot-support" target="_self">GorBot Support</a>
  • Contact: <a href="/cms-page.php?slug=contact-us" target="_self">Contact Us</a>
  • Privacy: <a href="/cms-page.php?slug=privacy-policy" target="_self">GorBot Privacy Policy</a>
  • Plans & Features: <a href="/plans-features.php" target="_self">GorBot Plans & Features</a>

These role addresses may be implemented as separate mailboxes or as aliases/forwarders to one or more monitored administrative mailboxes. What matters operationally is that messages are reliably received, reviewed, and retained when appropriate.

The Operator may publish additional addresses for specific purposes. For example:

  • dmca@gorbot.app is available for copyright or DMCA-related notices and may be monitored with the legal contact. Its availability does not by itself represent formal DMCA designated-agent registration.
  • noreply@gorbot.app may be used only for automated outbound transactional messages and should not be presented as a support address.

Users should not send passwords, API keys, authentication tokens, full payment-card information, private keys, recovery codes, or other highly sensitive credentials by email.

For vulnerability disclosure, the Operator may also publish a standard /.well-known/security.txt file pointing researchers to security@gorbot.app.

43. Player Studio, External Media, Galleries, Publications, and Profile Cards

GorBot may provide Player Studio features including Player Galleries, Publications, Character Profile Cards, User Profile Cards, Character Groups, public directories, external-media references, and related reporting or moderation tools.

External media and hosting. Unless a feature clearly states otherwise, GorBot may store a reference to an externally hosted image, publication, or resource rather than hosting the underlying file itself. The User remains responsible for the availability, sharing permissions, legality, security, and continued accessibility of the external resource.

External-media features may:

  • Allow only HTTPS URLs or approved providers.
  • Reject unsupported, malformed, local/private-network, credential-bearing, suspicious, or prohibited URLs.
  • Normalize or validate URLs before use.
  • Mark a resource unavailable, blocked, expired, inaccessible, or requiring review.
  • Stop displaying or linking to a resource when the provider is disabled, the resource is reported, or continued use presents a legal, privacy, abuse, or security concern.
  • Display a placeholder when referenced media is missing or unavailable.

A Gallery reference or public image does not make GorBot the owner or host of the original file.

Character-image reuse. Where supported, a Character Profile Card may reuse images already associated with the Character whose Card is being edited. User Profile Cards may reuse images associated with Characters owned by that User. These permissions do not authorize use of another User's private or owned Character media.

Profile-card design. Character and User Profile Cards are presentation layers. A Card may display current profile values, Card-specific overrides, custom Card fields, system-generated values, approved assets, owned media, or approved external media without changing the authoritative underlying Character or User profile unless the User separately edits that profile.

Publications. GorBot Publications are generally catalog, discovery, profile, advertising, or linking features. Unless a publication is clearly identified as hosted by GorBot, GorBot does not host, sell, license, or distribute the underlying book or publication file merely by displaying its listing or external link.

A User who publishes or advertises a publication represents and warrants that they:

  • Own the publication or have sufficient permission to advertise, distribute, link to, or share it.
  • Have sufficient rights to the cover art, images, descriptions, excerpts, links, and other submitted materials.
  • Have permission from any co-author or rights holder where permission is required.
  • Will not knowingly submit unlawful, infringing, deceptive, malicious, or unauthorized material.
  • Will comply with applicable laws, Discord rules, provider rules, and third-party rights.

GorBot may require an affirmative rights-confirmation checkbox or store the agreement version and confirmation time associated with a Publication submission.

External publication links may lead away from GorBot. Third-party providers control their own files, access rules, privacy practices, tracking, availability, and content-delivery behavior. GorBot does not guarantee that an external file is safe, accurate, available, or unchanged.

Reporting and moderation. Public or shared Galleries, Gallery images, Publications, Character Cards, User Cards, or external links may be reported. The Operator may investigate, hide, unpublish, disable, remove, or restrict reported content or a User's ability to use the related feature.

Dependency behavior. If a referenced Gallery image, Character image, asset, or external resource is removed, blocked, or becomes unavailable, dependent Cards, Publications, or public pages may lose that media or display an unavailable-media placeholder. GorBot may warn the owner before removal where technically practical but does not guarantee dependency preservation.

44. Community Power Features

GorBot may provide Community Power features for Server Owners, authorized staff, and community members. These may include Forms & Applications, Suggestions, Giveaways, Honeypot Protection, Verification, Starboards, Sticky Messages, Question of the Day, Counting, Invite Tracking, invite reward roles, Bump Reminders, Leveling, XP rewards, Reputation, and reusable Forms for Ticket intake.

Forms & Applications. Server administrators are responsible for the questions they ask, the information they collect, who may review submissions, retention choices, and any actions taken from a submission. Do not use GorBot Forms to collect passwords, authentication tokens, full payment-card information, government identification numbers, medical records, or other highly sensitive information unless a separate lawful and appropriate process has been established.

Suggestions and public submissions. Suggestions or similar community submissions remain User Content. Servers may choose to make them anonymous to ordinary members, but GorBot may still retain account or moderation identifiers where necessary for abuse prevention, security, auditing, or operation.

Giveaways. Server Owners are responsible for the legality, eligibility rules, prize fulfillment, taxes, disclosures, geographic restrictions, and Discord/provider requirements applicable to a giveaway. GorBot provides technical selection and administration tools and does not become the sponsor, prize provider, escrow agent, or guarantor of a Server-run giveaway merely by operating the feature. Server Owners must not use GorBot Giveaways for unlawful gambling, deceptive promotions, or prohibited prize activity.

Honeypot Protection and Verification. These systems are security and moderation tools, not guarantees that a User is malicious, compromised, human, or safe. A configured Honeypot may automatically delete messages, log activity, apply a timeout, kick, softban, ban, or perform another configured action when a User posts in a trap channel. Verification may assign or remove roles or restrict access based on configured workflows. Server Owners should clearly configure, test, and supervise these features and should provide an appropriate review or appeal process where required by their community rules or applicable law.

Invite Tracking. Invite attribution can be imperfect because of Discord behavior, deleted invite codes, vanity links, race conditions, caching, joins occurring close together, rejoining members, outages, or API limitations. Invite counts, fake/rejoin classifications, reward eligibility, and related statistics should not be treated as infallible evidence.

Leveling and Reputation. XP, levels, leaderboards, role rewards, Reputation, message counts, voice activity, and similar values are community/game features. GorBot may apply cooldowns, filters, anti-abuse rules, resets, adjustments, or administrative corrections. Such values do not represent money, employment status, legal standing, or an entitlement to a prize unless a Server separately and lawfully establishes such a program.

Starboards, Sticky Messages, QOTD, Counting, and Bump Reminders. These features depend on Discord channels, messages, reactions, permissions, schedules, and third-party or community behavior. GorBot may stop updating a message or workflow if the underlying message, channel, role, permission, listing service, or other dependency disappears or becomes unavailable.

Free and Premium limits. Community Power capacity may differ between Free and Premium Servers. Free access may include a usable base version of a feature while Premium provides higher limits, additional rules, larger history, or advanced automation. Current plan limits are governed by the current Plans & Features page and applicable checkout/entitlement disclosures.
